DON’T LET THEM TAKE YOUR RIGHTS AWAY Planning: The threat to your rights to stand up
for your home and neighbourhood Intended changes to the planning
system (H&F Council
website,
18 June 2021) 1. The introduction of a
traffic light system which will classify land for either
growth, renewal or protection. Land in growth areas will automatically
be given planning permission without individual planning consent 2. Planning committees
won’t decide applications as they do now, so residents will be less able to
comment on specific proposals. Instead, planning inspectors will have
discretion over what form an objector’s representations might take. 3. The existing site
notice and letter approach will be scrapped in favour of a fully digitised
system which could exclude those who are less technologically able. Some reasons why the government’s changes should
not go ahead MPs’ debate on
planning (21 June 2021) voted 231-0 for residents to have their say. A consultation towards legislation on making it easier to impose
mobile phone masts recently closed.
(In the 2019 consultation, personal respondents were the largest single
group. A
large majority, typically 74%, up to 85%, opposed the planning changes (p8). It
would be a betrayal of the assurance in the Government’s 2019 Manifesto: “We
remain committed to devolving power to people and places across the UK.” The
2019 Manifesto also notes “Having listened to local communities, we have
ruled out changes to the planning system. We will not support fracking unless the science shows categorically that it can be done safely.” The same yardstick needs to be adopted for
emerging 5G technology, which has not been tested for
safety. The government
committed to roll out 5G nationally in 2017 despite the lack of economic
justification, concerns about health and insecure communications. The telecom
industry wanted public sector support and funding – however the pilot – a
police facial recognition system –
was ruled illegal as a threat to
privacy! 5G is
potentially a major part of a population surveillance system (that could be
sneaked in under the guise of building ‘Smart Cities’ or ‘The Internet of
Things’). THIS ATTEMPT TO REMOVE OUR RIGHTS COMES AT
THE SAME TIME AS A WORRYING BARRAGE OF ATTEMPTS TO RESTRICT OUR FREEDOM AND
INCREASE THE POWER OF THE GOVERNMENT |

Planning the great power grab? The
threat of ‘planning reforms’ to remove residents’ rights to object to
unwanted development is just the tip of the iceberg. ● There is the threat of removing
rights to object to unlawful government decisions (Judicial Review – see Liberty’s ‘Government plans to
put itself above the law’)
● The Police Crime Sentencing and Courts Bill has been
criticised by senior police and crime commissioners, as proposed powers to restrict the
right to assemble and peacefully protest are not needed and go too far, (The
law already provides powers to crack down on anything seriously liable to
cause disruption or damage). There has been a backdrop of some misinformation and claims about a
demo had to be withdrawn. Former PM and Home Secretary Theresa May, warned that
freedom of speech was “an important
right in our democracy” and of the “potential
unintended consequences”.
|
|||||
● There is the threat of a
misnamed Online Safety Bill, aimed at restricting free speech and making it
illegal to host legal but disapproved content. Although only a draft text is
out, it has been criticised for its “broad and vague notion of harmful content”,
with internet companies with their vested interests doing the policing. Whereas
smaller independent content creators stand to be censored for posting
anything that the government deems to be disinformation or harmful, content
from these ‘recognised news publishers’ will be exempt from this censorship
under the bill. This exemption will likely compound the special privileges
these mainstream media outlets already receive on Big Tech platforms Reclaimthenet.org
adds a warning “And if there is a conflict between a
company’s obligation to censor harmful content and “the protection of users’
right to freedom of expression within the law,” the obligation to censor
harmful content overrules this protection.”. ● After denials and U-turns, the
government is trying force the adoption of tech known as ‘vaccine passports’.
There have already been strong complaints from the hospitality
industries
and university students. Concerned MPs and public figures have begun to
speak out. There is actually nothing new
about ‘vaccine passports’ – they were planned at EU level in 2019, when the
UK was still a member. The Covid regime gave vested interests a chance to
pitch for business - and get funding. The ‘vaccine passport’
has been described as an ID card by
stealth.
● For how the ‘passport system’
might work in practice, just look at China’s smartphone-based population control
system. "The digitization level is very high in China. People can't survive
without a cell phone. Dealing with the government…, buying train tickets,
shopping... no matter what people want to do, they are required to use cell
phones. "The Chinese regime requires all Chinese use their cell phones
to generate a health code. Only with a green health code are Chinese allowed
to move in China now.” By
the way, China is a highly-controlled society with a long-standing system of
permissions known as Social Credit. ● Unfortunately, vaccination has
been no guarantee against developing
Covid symptoms, and the whole area of Covid statistics has been found to be suspect. The total number
of adverse reactions
and deaths
for the Covid-19 vaccines over 6 months exceeds the total number of adverse
reactions and deaths for all other vaccines approved since 2010 (over a
period of 11 years). Any system of forced vaccination
(disarmingly worded such as: vaccine status certification for crowded,
enclosed settings*) would be perverse. It would be Orwellian to try to
justify it against ‘protecting freedom’* where the government removed that
freedom in the first place. (*MP correspondence, 26 July 2021). The one crowded, enclosed place
where the House of Commons is keen not to
impose ‘vaccine passports’ is Parliament. (See Hansard, 22 July 2021,
towards the end). ● Forced medication would be illegal
under international law
commitments.

different authorities here and here. |

‘The Great Restrict’ – paving the way for ‘The
Great Reset’? (also known as
‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution’) ● The opportunity of the pandemic
is being used to impose economic and social upheaval, including potentially
draconian measures in the nearer future. (The New Normal, Video, 53 mins, v
watchable and comprehensive. Might explain why the government is suddenly
borrowing slogans like ‘Build back better’.) ● The government has been doing a
lot of expensive media management, which some see as
buying media support. |

‘Yes, Prime Minister’? Time to keep your word… Footnote
– The Prime Minister’s foreword to the Ministerial Code,
August 2019 “…we will make our country the greatest
place to invest or set up a business, the greatest place to send your kids to
school and the greatest place in the world to live and bring up a family. To
fulfil this mission, and win back the trust of the British people, we must
uphold the very highest standards of propriety – and this code sets out how
we must do so. There must be no bullying and no
harassment; no leaking; no breach of collective responsibility. No misuse of
taxpayer money and no actual or perceived conflicts of interest. The precious
principles of public life enshrined in this document – integrity,
objectivity, accountability, transparency, honesty and leadership in the
public interest – must be honoured at all times; as must the political
impartiality of our much admired civil service….” BORIS JOHNSON |
